Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Choose Chicago Bishop to Give Address at Royal Wedding

New details about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s wedding were released on Saturday, just one week before the lovebirds say “I do.”

A press release from Kensington Palace revealed the couple has chosen Bishop Michael Bruce Curry of Chicago, Illinois, to give the address at their May 19 wedding.

“The love that has brought and will bind Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle together has its source and origin in God, and is the key to life and happiness,” Bishop Curry said in a statement. “And so we celebrate and pray for them today.”

The 27th Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church — who is also Chief Pastor and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society and chair of the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church — will travel to Windsor, England, to participate in the royal couple’s wedding at St. George’s Chapel.

Bishop Curry will join The Dean of Windsor, The Rt. Revd. David Conner, who will conduct the service. The Most Revd. and Rt. Hon. Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, will officiate as Meghan and Marry recite their vows.

Meghan, whose father, Thomas, is reportedly Episcopalian, was recently baptized and confirmed in the Church of England before her royal wedding.

Thomas is expected to arrive in London this weekend, while a source told ET earlier this week that Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is already by her side and helping to calm her nerves before she walks down the aisle.

“Doria will be here to help Meghan relax in the last days before she becomes a [royal],” the source said, adding that one of Meghan’s closest pals, Jessica Mulroney, will arrive next week to “help Meghan out with last-minute touches ahead of her big day.”

See more in the video below, and keep up with all of ET’s coverage of the royal wedding as we count down to May 19.
