Anna Faris‘ mom has some love advice we all could use.
ET’s Nischelle Turner recently sat down with Faris and the cast of Mom on set, where she learned that motherly advice is a big part of the show — both onscreen and off. The 41-year-old actress is all about dishing out tips to her co-stars, especially in the love arena.
“I’m always like, ‘Protect your heart!'” Faris confessed. “My mom always said to be selfish in love… it’s a version of that.”
Heading into its sixth season, Mom has covered love, loss and a myriad of other topics, but there’s still some uncharted territory left to explore.
“My character used to be an exotic dancer. I always wanted to revisit that,” Faris said. “I just think it’d be so fun because my character so feels fundamentally awkward.”
On a more serious note, Faris, who split from husband Chris Pratt last year, said she loves that the show tackles being a single mom.
“We did cancer, breast cancer,” Mimi Kennedy added.
“There have been some deaths,” Faris noted, as Allison Janney pointed out the overdoses as well. “We’re really selling it, guys! We’re really selling it!”
But the cast is ready to do it all together. “I think that we all come to the show with a lot of experience behind us. We’re not, you know, spring chickens,” Janney joked.
The Oscar winner also refers to her cast and crew by another name: the watermelon players. “This is silly because we do a lot of eating on the show,” Janney explained. “Our lovely prop department gave us chopped-up watermelon because you can’t choke on it, it’s not dry, you can talk while it’s in your mouth.’
“I’ve choked!” Faris hilariously revealed.
“I think the first time we heard it, she was accepting an award, an Emmy,” Jaime Pressly shared. “And I was like, ‘Who the hell is the watermelon players?'”

When asked what “Ryan-like qualities” Kendrick possessed, Lively quipped, “Umm mostly in bed, I feel like.”
“Who’s bigger?” Kendrick jokingly shot back.
Earlier this month, Kendrick took home the Teen Choice Award surfboard for Choice Comedy Movie Actress, as well as Choice Twit (i.e., celebrity Twitter user) — a category in which she beat, among others, Reynolds himself.
“I have so much fun on Twitter, and I know that Mindy [Kaling] and Kumail [Nanjiani] and [others] were nominated, and also I know that Ryan Reynolds was nominated, so in your face, Ryan!” Kendrick said on stage during the show. “I beat you! Stay in your lane!”
Speaking with ET, however, Kendrick admitted that she has since apologized to the Deadpool star — at least, somewhat.
“I saw Ryan with Blake yesterday and I did say, ‘Sorry about telling you to suck it,'” Kendrick recalled. “But I did sort of admit that there was [also] part of me that was not just doing a bit and was genuinely really excited that I beat him.”
While Kendrick and Lively’s random and hilarious flirting has been in the spotlight quite a bit in recent weeks, they aren’t the only cast members in A Simple Favor making waves.
Golding has had a meteoric ascent into the public consciousness with the wild success of his debut feature film, Crazy Rich Asians, making A Simple Favor only his second movie ever.
Golding admitted he was “absolutely” intimidated by the idea of starring opposite Lively and Kendrick, adding, “How could you not be?”
“But you hid it so well,” Kendrick marveled.
“There were times when we would be rehearsing a scene and you would stop and you would just go, ‘Sorry, I forgot my line. I’m just really nervous,'” she recalled. “I was like, ‘Why is he nervous? Is he having, like, a medical issue?’ And then I was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s his second movie!'”
A Simple Favorhits theaters Sept. 14.
True Blood stars-turned-real-life-lovebirds Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are teaming up for television once again!
Paquin has signed on to star in Pop TV’s first scripted drama series, Flack, as Robyn, an American public relations executive living in London and working with stars of entertainment, sports and fashion.
Paquin, 35, will also serve as one of the executive producers on the series, alongside her husband and former costar, Moyer, 48.
“Oliver Lansley has written six of the best scripts I’ve ever read,” Paquin said in a statement released to ET. “He walks that fine line between intense character-driven drama and exceptionally intelligent humor.”
“My character, Robyn, exists in a world where there are no moral absolutes and humor is used as a sharply executed defense mechanism to maintain the illusion of perpetual control,” continued the Canadian-born , New Zealand-raised Oscar winner. “I am incredibly excited about tackling the creative complexities of Flack as an actress and for my company CASM’s collaboration with Pop.”
The series commences production in London this month, with Pop TV’s EVP of Original Programming, Justin Rosenblatt, describing Paquin as, “the dream lead who brings it all to life.”
The Full Monty’s Peter Cattaneo will direct the series, while Mark Talbot will produce.

Allison Janney is just too cool!
The 58-year-old Mom star — and recent Oscar winner — took the time on Friday to teach her on-screen daughter, Anna Faris, some of her slick dance moves, proving that she’s not like regular moms, she’s a cool mom.
“My Academy Award winning mom is teaching me how to dance like a cool person,” Faris wrote on Instagram alongside a silly video of the two dancing together.
“I know you know how much I love you,” Faris said during a table read. “But I also, I hope that you know — I’m sure that you do — that everyone here in this room loves you, of course not only for your brilliance, but because you are just such a f**king amazing person.”
Faris also posted a sweet picture of the two where she’s holding Janney’s golden statuette.
“Allison won!!! And I got to hold it!!!! It’s heavy as shit!!!” she captioned the snap.

Stars are going all out for Elton John!
Miley Cyrus, John Legend, Anna Kendrick and many others brought their style A-game to Elton John: I’m Still Standing — A Grammy Salute at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday night.
The “Malibu” songstress dared to go bold in a sparkling silver sequin one-piece with matching thigh-high boots.
“Backstage ‘I’m Still Standing’ @eltonjohn tribute! #BitchIsBack ?,” Cyrus captioned one of three Instagram posts she shared. On Sunday, Cyrus and John teamed up to sing a gorgeous rendition of “Tiny Dancer” at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards, and she also performed during Tuesday’s tribute.
Legend, who also took the tribute stage, was spotted on his way to the musical event wearing a navy-and-burgundy plaid suit with a white button-up and funky tri-colored bow tie. He jazzed up his outfit even more with bejeweled black sunglasses.
Anna Kendrick showed off her equally shimmering look for the concert on Instagram. “Major Shine for Elton tonight,” the actress wrote alongside a picture of her Rasario sequin dress, iridescent Balmain purse and David Yurman rings.
Ed Sheeran — who did not attend last Sunday’s GRAMMY Awards, though he picked up two wins — Tracy Morgan, Lucy Liu, Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, David Burtka, and Edie Falco were all also in attendance, while Sam Smith and Keith Urban were also among the evening’s performers.
Meanwhile, Marren Morris and Miranda Lambert, who were expected to perform during the event, shared a pre-concert jam session where they and their glam squad sing along to TLC’s “No Scrubs.”
Last week, the iconic singer announced his plans to retire from touring after he completes his farewell tour. ET also caught up with the iconic singer before the GRAMMYs ceremony, where he dished on working with Cyrus and what’s next for him. Watch below!
ET caught up with the 41-year-old actress at a celebration for the series’ 100th episode in Los Angeles over the weekend, where she couldn’t stop gushing over the I, Tonya star.
Faris said she will definitely be cheering on Janney at this year’s Academy Awards. Janney is nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Tonya Harding’s mom, LaVona Golden, in the Craig Gillespie-directed film about the former figure skater’s life.
“I’m so thrilled for her,” Faris gushed to ET’s Leanne Aguilera. “I was telling her yesterday — I was like, ‘If I liked you a little bit less, I would be feeling some envy!’ But, no. Nobody deserves it more!”
“She’s such a brilliant person and, more importantly, a wonderful person,” Faris added. “She always brings morale up, and I feel so lucky to be working with a group of brilliant women [for Mom]. It feels very rare.”
Faris continued to marvel over Janney, recalling one of their very first conversations.
“We had friends in common, and she took my arm and she said, ‘I know we are destined to be friends,'” Faris explained. “I was like, ‘I love this woman.’ And I learned from her. I couldn’t drive to work every day and sort of feel the joy without her.”
“I love her so much,” she added. “I annoy her, I know I do, ’cause I’m always knocking on her dressing room door. I’m like, ‘Allison, come out and play with me!’ But I just feel incredibly fortunate.”
When the Oscar nominations were announced earlier this month, Faris was one of the first celebrities to congratulate her co-star-turned-pal.
“Congrats mommy!!!” Faris captioned a portrait of herself and Janney. “I love you.”

ET spoke with the 58-year-old actress shortly after she found out she was nominated for an Oscar, and she was still “tingling” from the news.
“I just I feel like crying,” she said of being a first-time Academy Award nominee while on the set of Mom. “It’s a pretty fantastic thing to have happen in my life.”
“It feels better than I ever thought it would or ever allowed myself to imagine it would be,” she continued. “You know, thinking that you can’t ever imagine that it’ll happen for you, so you don’t think about it too much, and now that it has, I feel just unbelievably happy.”

Chris Pratt has filed for divorce from Anna Faris. The 38-year-old Jurassic World star filed legal documents on Friday, ET confirms. The news comes nearly four months after Pratt and Faris announced their separation. The former couple, who have remained friendly since their split, filed their divorce docs at the same time. Faris’ response perfectly mirrors Pratt’s, as the two both ask for joint custody of their 5-year-old son, Jack, and reserve the right to receive spousal support. The pair…
