U2's Bono and The Edge Are Ellen's Assistants for the Day — Watch!

The verdict is in: Bono and The Edge from U2 are probably not cut out to be personal assistants.

The two will appear on Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, in which they hilariously attempt to be DeGeneres’s personal assistants for the day. In a clip of the segment released on Tuesday, Ellen jokingly enlists the two after her personal assistant and his personal assistant are both absent for the day.

And boy does she put them through a true assistant experience!

“Put name tags on now so I know who’s who,” she orders the pair. “Which is the Bow-No? The Ed-Gee?”

She then jokingly puts the screws to the two in the way only Hollywood talent can: Ordering them to check on the soup of the day, complaining that it’s taking too long, getting exasperated when they can’t figure out the “soup of tomorrow.” Bono and The Edge dutifully bumble through her increasingly demanding requests.

“You know what, the Goo Goo Dolls would have had the soup all figured out by now,” she quips at one point.

“Edge is great at this,” Bono offers cheerily as his partner continues to try and navigate the soup situation.

“Yeah, that’s your opinion,” DeGeneres deadpans.

She then makes the two take drink orders from her writers and sends them off to fulfill their tasks.

“It’s good to feel useful,” she tells them as they leave the room. “Oh, my God, those guys. I mean they’re great musicians. Let’s call it what it is: great musicians, horrible assistants.”

The full episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show airs Wednesday on NBC.
